JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an Associate Vice President (AVP) of Clinical Planning and Strategic Growth is responsible for leading the development and execution of clinical strategies that align with the organization's mission, vision, and strategic goals.

This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance ambulatory clinical access and operations, drive strategic growth initiatives, and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The AVP will play a critical role in identifying growth opportunities, optimizing clinical services, advancing value-based transition initiatives, and managing key projects to expand the organization's footprint.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement clinical growth strategies that support DHIP’s long-term goals, including analysis of performance, evaluation of competitive position, and development of strategic initiatives for growth and geographic expansion.
  • Lead business planning for new ambulatory sites; including managing the assignment of space for ambulatory care services, Certificate of Need (CON) program requirements, and building and clinic design plans.
  • In collaboration with planning and facilities, develop and maintain a strategic master plan for all new and existing ambulatory care facilities.
  • Coordinate proforma development for new sites.
  • Lead the development of patient segmentation analyses and make recommendations for strategic growth that enhances access and meets the needs of our patients and Duke Health.
  • Provide advice and counsel on internal and external ramifications of proposed ambulatory activities and develop strategies for achieving organizational goals and mission.
  • Manage bi-directional communication of key information to service line stakeholders to support value-based strategies that encompass managed care priorities, marketplace needs, the competitive environment, cost management, and customer-focused services.
  • Integrate Value Based initiatives across the growth plan. Utilize and incorporate data benchmarking processes in business plans and presentation materials.
  • Engage collaboratively with leadership across Duke Health, demonstrate problem-solving approaches, and respond to questions, concerns and issues in a timely manner.

JOB ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree; A Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Health Administration, Population Health or related field is preferred.
  • 10 years of progressive leadership experience.
  • Experience in business planning, budget projections, revenue / expense management.
  • Well-developed financial analysis skills.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work with physicians.
  • Political savvy, ability to work in ambiguous situations and in a highly matrixed organization.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.

JOB HOURS

The schedule for this position is day shifts, Monday-Friday, with no weekends or holidays.
