What You’ll Do
- Interpret AutoCAD plans into 3ds Max Scenes for visualization
- Use equipment selection, customization, juxtaposition and surfacing design to tell stories and build engaging experiences
- Translate topographical contours into accurate 3D embankments and terrain
- Use Forestpack and Railclone to apply foliage, hardscape, infrastructure, vehicles, and characters
- Use Vray to light and render scenes in appealing compositions that tell a visual story and draw the audience in
- Paint and illustrate digitally in Photoshop to convey customized product designs using a digital drawing tablet
- Create Fly-through animations that showcase both the products and the space in a fun and cinematic way
- Render and set up Virtual panoramic tours that allow the viewer to become immersed in the experience as if they were in the space
- Utilize multi-pass compositing in Photoshop and After Effects to bring your renders to life and add that post-production POP
- Work within a regional group of designers to coordinate work and project responsibilities
- Pay special attention to inclusive features such as curb heights, thresholds, and accessible pathways in the final renders
- Create visually compelling presentations that tell a story about proposed design solutions
- Occasionally present design solutions to clients or end users
What You’ll Need
- Proficiency in 3ds Max + Vray (or experience with Maya, Zbrush, Cinema4D, Rhino, Revit, Arnold, Blender, Cycles, or similar 3D software), Microsoft Office, Adobe Products, Wacom Tablet (or similar digital sketch tablet)
- Proficient in character, vehicle, and prop design, with the capability to produce turnarounds that preserve scale, perspective, and volume.
- Bachelor’s degree or greater in an applicable field including Animation, Game design, interior design, architectural design, etc.
- Experience in architectural visualization, Product design and visualization, 3D modeling, game design, VFX, Illustration, playground design, amusement park design, waterpark design, etc.
- Proficiency in navigating a pipeline that encompasses various stages and employs multiple software applications that all need to shake hands
- Experience in interpreting site plans, ensuring accuracy in scale, and comprehending topographical features
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and in a team environment to meet deadlines and visual expectations
- Ability to communicate ideas quickly and clearly through illustration with a strong understanding of appeal and concept
- Strong communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once
- Online portfolio that demonstrates strong design and visualization skills
- Ability to develop and communicate a project design narrative through compelling presentations
- Experience working with clients preferred
- Passion for creating amazing playgrounds
This is a hybrid position located in north Austin.
