Work under the direct supervision of the Level III NDT Technician by performing non-destructive testing (NDT) inspections and maintenance functions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspects components and component parts for damage using non-destructive testing and special tooling and equipment. Utilizes special tools and equipment, performs tests, and checks as required to confirm component or aircraft serviceability in a shop and sometimes field environment.
- Documents all inspection findings, work performed, and corrective action taken in the appropriate maintenance records.
- Assist the NST Level III Technician in the training of NDT Trainees.
- Assist in the development of NDT technique sheets.
- Keeps area clean, orderly, and FOD free. Follows standard work procedures for equipment maintenance and clean up. Participates in the total preventive maintenance program in the NDT shop.
Ensures tools and equipment are well maintained, operable and accounted for.
- Utilizes Lean and continuous improvement tools striving to identify and eliminate waste in all its forms to improve quality and safety, decrease lead time, and reduce cost.

- This role is classified as Safety Sensitive and will be subject to Random Drug and Alcohol Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum hours of documented NDT experience and 32 hours of documented formal training in the Liquid Penetrant (PT) method required.
- Minimum hours of documented NDT experience and 32 hours of documented formal training in the Magnetic Particle (MT) method required.
- Documented NDT experience and formal training in the Eddy Current (ET) and Ultrasonic (UT) method preferred.
- Ability to gain and maintain NAS- Level 2 certification in Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), Eddy Current (ET), and Ultrasonic (UT) inspection within 3 months of hire.
- Have the skills and knowledge to interpret codes, standards, and other contractual documents.
- Familiarity with NADCAP and AS / AS quality systems is preferred.
- Familiarity with the products and processes associated with aircraft maintenance and manufacturing is preferred.
- Ability to understand repair station procedures, quality management system procedures (maintenance and manufacturing) and associated federal aviation regulations.

- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to work overtime and / or weekends as assigned, dependent on production needs
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally and have a valid Driver’s License.
- Must meet International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) as a U.S. Person.
