POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides college-wide information, referrals, and assistance to students, staff and the general public. This position also provides front desk and administrative support to the Yamhill Valley Campus student services and faculty teams.

This is a part-time hourly pool. Applications are collected for possible immediate, or future college vacancies. This type of employment is temporary and often sporadic.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and / or weekends.
- All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the College.
- Requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire
- Employees must maintain Oregon or Washington residency as a condition of employment.
- Part-time hourly positions will not exceed 900 working hours per fiscal year
- Successful applicants for designated positions must pass a background inquiry, which may include criminal, driving, credit and full background checks.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions :
- Provides quality customer service at the front desk by incorporating respectful, patient, positive, and solution-focused behaviors and attitudes
- Provides a welcoming presence, an attitude of service and makes every attempt to meet the needs of internal and external customers who present at the center
- Greets people seeking assistance, gives directions / answers questions regarding student support resources using a variety of information sources
- Actively collaborates with a variety of students, staff and the public
- Assists with college activities such as registration, conferences, special events
- Processes records, requisitions, and forms
- Conducts general office filing and maintenance
- Researches information as needed, including using various confidential records and databases
- Types, copies, files, distributes, tracks and replenishes various forms and materials
- Assists in answering phones and directing calls for the department
- Assists in scheduling student appointments over the phone / in-person, including checking students in for appointments

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications :
High School Diploma / GED
AND-
One year of customer service experience
Core Competencies
- Bicultural / multicultural skills sufficient to select appropriate behaviors, values and attitudes within different cultures during interactions with others
- Ability to work independently on a variety of difficult and responsible secretarial duties
- Knowledge of current office practices
- Ability to work effectively with students, staff, faculty and the general public
- Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple tasks or projects
Preferred Qualifications
- One year clerical, reception and / or secretarial experience or related education
- Experience working in an environment serving diverse customers
- Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using the Google Suite
- Bilingual English / Spanish - Reading, writing, and speaking fluency
