Die Setter / Setup Operator is responsible for Set up, maintain, & troubleshooting all tooling & machines.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up, maintain, run and trouble shoot all tooling & machines
- Assures all safety devices are in place and operate properly
- Records all repairs and adjustments in the logbooks
- Be able to safely operate all machinery in the department
- Must be able to pass forklift safety certification
- Be able to relieve operators when needed
- Occasionally lifting, push / pull required up to 90 lbs.
- Must be able to climb ladders, etc.
- Miscellaneous duties as assigned by the lead
Qualifications
- High school diploma / GED
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Have a practical approach to troubleshooting and problem solving
- Must a mechanically inclined
- Previous experience working with stamp presses, roll threading machines, electric welders, punch presses and various automated assembly machine is preferred
- Proficient in the use of measuring devices (calipers and micrometers)
- Understand Tool and Die construction and mechanical function
- Ability to work independently or within a team
- Must have a sense of urgency
