Tool and Die Associate

To help us drive excellence, you’ll get to :
- Read and interpret blueprints or works from verbal or written instructions or from the part to be copied or fitted
- Plan setup and operation of all types of machine shop tools, considering types of material, tolerances, types of cutting tools, coolants, lubricants and machine tool feeds and speeds
- Weld repair and heat treatment of different materials including tool steels.
- Determine specifications for inspection of work, using precision measuring and gaging tools, performing required inspection before, during and after machining
- Perform hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools and dies.
- Fit and assemble jigs, fixtures, tools and dies. Sets up, runs off and tests dies to produce a product to specifications, tracing die difficulties to their source and correcting same
- Tear down, repairs and reassembles tooling on the bench or in the press as required
This full-time hourly role is a part of our Tool and Die Team and reports to the Tool Room Supervisor.
Required experience :
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program with journeyman card or equivalent to 8 years’ experience
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi task and prioritize
- Excellent problem solving skills such as 8D and 5 Whys
- Excellent communication skills as evidenced in associate relations, team skills, and have the ability to interface directly with the customer to resolve issues
- Ability to work independently, self-starter with the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Excellent attendance record
