Custodian - Part-Time Evening

The Custodian Part-Time position is critical in providing a clean and sanitary environment by performing housekeeping, cleaning, laundry, floor maintenance, minor repairs and painting, and waste collection services in all areas of the CSU Health Network.

This is a part-time, evening position, with a typical work schedule of 5 : 00 PM 9 : 00 PM, Monday Friday, with a total of 20 work hours per week.

These hours may vary slightly between the hours of 4 : 30 and 10 : 00 depending on mutual individual and business needs.

This position reports directly to the Facility and Custodial Services Manager. Required Job Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Cleaning experience in a commercial environment

Preferred Job Qualifications Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics

• Experience providing custodial services in a medical environment
• Operating knowledge of and experience with custodial equipment including vacuum cleaners, shampoo machines, wet / dry vacuums, floor scrubbing and / or polishing machines, buffing and / or other related cleaning operations

Essential Duties Job Duty Category Cleaning and Laundry Duty / Responsibility Clean and maintain building interiors, following sanitary standards

Wash, wipe, dust, scrub, scour, disinfect, vacuum, sweep, mop, buff, and polish surfaces, floors, walls, windows, blinds, lavatories, mirrors, furnishings, and fabric

Deep Cleaning

• Strip and wax hard floors
• Shampoo carpets and upholstery

Exterior

• Spread various products on exterior ground surfaces to de-ice to prevent staff, students, and visitors from falling
• Provide building access and security through snow removal services within the Monday-Friday work schedule; and may provide removal services on weekends and during inclement weather closures as necessary to service the Health Network and building partners

Laundry

• Collect soiled laundry in the Health Network and sort / prepare for delivery to off-site service
• Fold and put away clean laundry

• Sweep, mop, scrub and buff all hard floors to keep clean and eliminate scuff marks and scratches

• Assist in repairs
• Paint walls and floors up to 20 feet high using scaffolding, and extension methods
