Orangewood Christian School is seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach. This part time, seasonal role supports the Head Coach in managing all aspects of the varsity girls lacrosse team, helping players develop their skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship in a faith-based environment.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for lacrosse, an understanding of varsity-level competition, and a commitment to Christian values.
The Assistant Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach is a position requiring a calling to use God-given talents to further the Kingdom of God.
Assistant Varsity Girls Lacrosse Coach is expected to be a minister to the OCS community through actions, speech, attitude, and prayer, as they point students to Christ.
The Varsity Girl's Lacrosse season runs February - April.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and executing daily practices, drills, and conditioning sessions.
- Provide instruction on individual and team lacrosse techniques, strategies, and game tactics.
- Work with players to improve their fundamental skills, such as passing, shooting, defense, and positioning.
- Foster a positive team environment and promote core values of sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership, consistent with Orangewood Christian School’s mission.
- Assist with game preparation, including scouting opponents, developing game plans, and organizing pre-game routines.
- Attend all practices, games, and team meetings, providing on-field coaching and off-field mentorship.
- Support the Head Coach in making in-game decisions, substitutions, and adjustments.
- Monitor the safety and well-being of student-athletes, including injury prevention and first aid response.
- Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, student-athletes, and parents regarding expectations, performance, and team goals.
- Serve as a positive role model, exemplifying Christian character and integrity in all interactions.
Requirements :
- Previous experience coaching or playing lacrosse (varsity or college-level experience preferred).
- Strong understanding of the rules, techniques, and strategies of lacrosse.
- Ability to work well with high school athletes, encouraging personal growth and skill development.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to the values and mission of Orangewood Christian School.
- CPR / First Aid certification required.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends during the season.
Work Environment :
- Practices and games may take place outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
- Some travel may be required for away games.
