HVAC Apprentice/Helper

As an apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to assist experienced professionals in installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in a variety of different settings.

Responsibilities :

• Work with senior HVAC technicians and supervisors to learn proper installation, repair, and maintenance techniques for a variety of different heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.
• Learn to diagnose and troubleshoot problems with HVAC systems, using both verbal and written instructions.
• Install and repair ductwork and ventilation systems, ensuring that they meet industry standards and comply with safety regulations.
• Assist with the installation and maintenance of refrigeration systems, including commercial and industrial cooling equipment.
• Coordinate with other team members and contractors, including electricians and plumbers, to ensure that HVAC systems are properly integrated with other building systems.
• Keep a clean and orderly work environment, ensuring that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
• Attend classes and workshops to further develop your skills and knowledge in the HVAC field, as required by the company.
• Keep the shop clean and organized.
• Notify and communicate with office personnel regarding ordering and maintaining inventory.
• Maintain and record company vehicle needs.

Requirements :

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by the job.
• Basic understanding of math and science principles.
• Physical dexterity and the ability to lift heavy objects as needed.

Job Types : Full-time, Part-time, Internship

Pay : $15.00 - $25.00 per hour

Schedule :

• 10 hour shift
• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Nights as needed
• Overtime
• Weekends as needed
• Year round work

Supplemental Pay :

Ability to commute / relocate : Lake Zurich, IL 60047 : Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)

License / Certification : EPA Type II (Preferred)
