Human Resources Manager
Status : Full-time
Schedule : Day Shift
Salary : $70,000-$85,000
Location : Ovation Heartwood Preserve, 470 Maxwell Plaza, Omaha, NE 68154
The primary purpose of your job position is to assist in the day-to-day human resources functions of the Community in accordance with Independent, Assisted or Memory Care living Community operations, and as directed by the Executive Directors and / or RVP of Operations.
Responsibilities :
- Assists with managing community recruitment.
- Maintain payroll to include maintenance of employee records, processing timecards, paychecks, computation of federal and state payroll taxes, miscellaneous deductions, etc.
as directed (as applicable).
- Report suspected or known incidents of fraud relative to employment and payroll.
- Coordinate all new team member onboarding functions ensuring that each new team member has all the tools, training, and resources to effectively perform their duties.
This includes new hire paperwork and screening functions. Ensure completion and accuracy of all new hire paperwork. Use multiple software systems in this process : UltiPro / UKG, DACS, E-Verify, etc.
- Coordinate new-employee orientation programs.
- Assist with community compensation programs, monitoring performance evaluation programs.
- Assist with benefits administration to include change reporting and communication of benefit information to employees
- Develops and maintains affirmative action program (if applicable); maintains records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles all necessary reports from UltiPro / UKG database.
- Maintains all personnel files in accordance with company policy and state required regulations.
- Assists in administering Community employee retention programs and surveys.
- Maintains all required current labor law postings.
- Assists in the administration and management of Community’s worker’s compensation programs.
- Serve as a conduit for communications between Arete home Office and Ovation team members.
- Assist with the administration and monitoring and retention of Relias engagement and learning software systems.
- Assist with team member celebrations and recognition of anniversaries and birthdays.
- Implement / oversee the employee engagement (LARK) program.
- Creates and promotes a Best-In-Class workplace culture that leads Ovation to be the Employer of Choice in the region and state
- Report known or suspected incidents of fraud, waste and or abuse to the Executive Director(s).
- Participation in all compliance training programs.
- Attend and participate in workshops, seminars, etc., to keep abreast of current changes in human resources and the long-term care field, as well as to maintain a professional status
- Attend and participate in Community mandatory in-service training programs as scheduled (e.g., OSHA, TB, HIPAA, Abuse Prevention, etc.).
- Assist with Preparedness and implementing emergency procedures
- Follow established safety regulations, to include fire protection / prevention, smoking regulations, infection control, etc.
- Follow established ergonomics policies and procedures governing lifting techniques, repetitive tasks, and the use of safety equipment and supplies to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Ensure that an adequate supply of human resource supplies and equipment are on hand to meet the day-to-day operational needs of the Community.
- Maintain the confidentiality of all resident care information including protected health information. Report known or suspected incidents of unauthorized disclosure of such information.
- Ensure that resident’s rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property, and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are followed.
- Report all allegations of resident abuse and / or misappropriation of resident property.
Qualifications :
- Must possess, as a minimum, a high-school diploma or its equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Must have, as a minimum, two (2) years’ experience in human resources and payroll practices. Experience in health care human resources preferred but not required.
