Job Description
Create detailed, accurate Division 8 door, frame, and hardware schedule submittals and shop drawings for Kendell projects within or under budget provided by estimating.
Complete the scheduling process with job costing entry, and submittal revisions. Maximize cost savings opportunities throughout the scheduling process.
- Use Protech software, spreadsheets, plans, specifications and estimating paperwork to create submittals, shop drawings, and additional project documents.
- Create and prepare door and frame submittals and shop drawings following industry standards
- Create detailed hardware sets, using proper headings for hardware sets, listing hardware items in correct sequence and format, identifying intended functions of door openings, and coordinating hardware templating requirements.
- Evaluate door openings and determine the correct products to create assemblies that meet applicable requirements such as codes and standards.
- Follow FSC policies, BAA, ADA, and Building Code guidelines and procedures as related to scheduling
- Organize and prepare all job information for project management job folder
- Stay current on industry-related codes and standards, products, and manufacturers by attending in-house or manufacturer-sponsored learning sessions or industry-sponsored seminars / conferences
- Utilize and apply newly gained knowledge and skills in job functions when applicable
- Be a source of industry and organizational knowledge for colleagues
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Construction Management or other related field with minimum of two years previous work experience in construction industry, preferably in product scheduling drafting or detailing
- Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database software, and scheduling software, preferred experience with Protech, Microsoft Excel and Smartsheet
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Strong mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide in basic units of measure; figure and convert fractions, rates, percentages, ratios;
draw and interpret symmetrical drawings)
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer relations skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with clients and employees
- Excellent customer service and problem solving skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision and consistently meet deadlines
