Position Overview :
LHH Recruitment Solutions is searching for a full-time Emergency / Inpatient Medical Coder on a contract basis for a client in TX.
Our client is seeking a Medical Coder to review and abstract inpatient medical records, accurately assign medical codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services, and ensure compliance with federal and state reporting and billing requirements.

Key Responsibilities :
Analyze and abstract information from inpatient medical records.
Ensure that all necessary data for federal and state reporting and billing are captured accurately.
Identify and assign accurate ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and services.
Effectively assign DRG codes.
Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate coding.
Maintain effective written and verbal communication with compliance officers and auditors.
Stay updated with coding guidelines, reimbursement reporting guidelines, and ethical standards set by the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA).
Adhere to official coding guidelines and internal policies.
Bring identified concerns to the manager for resolution.
Meet established productivity standards while minimizing abstracting errors.
Utilize analytical skills to interpret health record data and assign appropriate codes.
Qualifications :
Minimum of 2 years of experience in emergency coding, hospital inpatient coding, and physician coding.
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, PCS coding, UB-04, and HCFA.
Excellent critical thinking, judgment, and decision-making skills.
Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with compliance officers and auditors.
Compensation : $24-$25
