Position Overview :
As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be responsible for managing vendor invoices, processing payments, and ensuring accurate financial records.
The ideal Accounts Payable Specialist will bring strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy in handling all aspects of accounts payable.
Responsibilities of the Accounts Payable Specialist :
- Process and review vendor invoices and internal check requests, ensuring proper approval and coding
- Maintain an organized file of unpaid invoices and address any discrepancies. Handle invoice discrepancies efficiently
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any issues or discrepancies. Ensure timely and accurate payment processing
- Assist with expense report reviews and approvals. Monitor and update accounts payable processes and systems
- Prepare and route checks for signature and maintain records of payments, ensuring all tasks are completed in a timely manner
Qualifications for the Accounts Payable Specialist :
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable Specialist role or similar accounting position
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial data management
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (, QuickBooks, Sage)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education Requirements :
- Associates or Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred
- Relevant certifications (, AP certification) are a plus
