Scion Nonprofit Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for a Resource Development Manager for our client, a very successful and long-standing Nonprofit community development organization.

POSITION SUMMARY :
The Resource Development Manager will lead the organization's fundraising efforts, including foundation and corporate giving, and individual donor programs.
They will contribute to program planning and communication strategies, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel.

RESPONSIBILITIES OVERVIEW :
- Lead all aspects of fundraising and development, including implementing individual donor and small business giving programs, writing and submitting proposals and reports to existing and new funders, following up on pending proposals, coordinating site visits, and managing relationships
- Coordinate grant writing, report preparation, donation acknowledgment, and funder relations to execute the initiatives of the organization's foundation and corporate giving programs.
- Supervise the components of the individual donor giving program, including donor solicitation, acknowledgment, recognition, and donor stewardship.
- Develop new and innovative strategies for soliciting and cultivating individual donors, major gifts, and planned giving
- Coordinate, oversee, and execute the local business donor program, including identifying prospects, preparing appeal letters, tracking, acknowledgment, and donor recognition
- Oversee all internal and external grant-related reports and compliance materials, as well as fundraising reporting to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Maintain a comprehensive annual resource development plan and ensure targets are met in alignment with the fundraising budget goals, which will be created in collaboration with the Accounting Director and CEO.
- Serve as a member of the Administrative team to support effective operations.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute the Annual Staff, Board, and Leader Retreat as well as the Annual Membership Meeting in conjunction with other leaders in the administration.
- Actively support communications efforts, such as writing and developing the organizational newsletter, the annual report, public relations efforts, and social media outreach in collaboration with the Communications Manager and CEO, as appropriate.
- Staff and support the Stewardship Committee of the Board of Directors, including preparing materials, coordinating food and logistics, taking minutes, and following up on meetings.
- Manage and oversee fundraising special events.
- Oversee, maintain, and ensure the proper paper and electronic record keeping and document archive systems relevant to resource development and stewardship efforts, including maintaining an electronic donor management system.
- Monitor work in all areas of the organization for inclusion in solicitations, reports, prospective funding opportunities, and communications materials.
- Conduct research for new donor prospects, grant and award opportunities.
- Stay informed about current emerging trends within the development and philanthropic community.
- Increase membership and engagement within networking organizations and publications.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- 3 years of development and fundraising experience; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Experience with donor data management software.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours for special events, including evenings and weekends.
- West Town, Humboldt Park, Logan Square, Hermosa, and Avondale residents are a plus.
