Job Description
Overview :
Arcadis is seeking a talented 3-to-6-year intermediate level Landscape Architect or Landscape Designer for our Placemaking Team based in the Salt Lake City region.
You will support the design and implementation of a diverse range of projects including master planning, civic plazas, urban parks, transit-oriented communities (TOC), urban infill, streetscapes, trails, resorts and residential communities.

As part of the Placemaking team, you will be part of a fast-paced dynamic environment creating contemporary, inclusive, responsive, sustainable public and private spaces.
You will be involved in all phases of the project from master planning, consultation, conceptual design through to detailed design and construction observation.
Working within a variety of project locations in the Western US and the Salt Lake Valley.
Role accountabilities :
- Work with Senior Planners and Landscape Architects to design creative, context-sensitive urban environments to support public and private sector projects
- Internal and external collaboration with Planners, Architects and Engineers
- Prepare visually compelling graphic presentations and develop creative technical solutions
- Assist in the preparation of design briefs and technical reports
- Ensure project deliverables comply with local standards and contract requirements
- Assist with contract administration and site inspections as necessary
- Assist with community / public engagement
Qualifications
Qualifications and Experience :
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree from an accredited institution within the field of Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, Architecture or Planning
- 3 to 5 years (post-graduation) of relevant working experience in a professional design firm, is ideal but not required
- Understanding of design excellence principles with demonstrated high quality work that elevates design
- Experience with framework land-use, open space and transportation planning.
- Strong visualization skills considered an asset
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of assisting in the preparation of reports and developing design narratives under the direction of a Senior Landscape Architect
- Good organizational skills on complex projects
- Knowledge of the technical aspects of the Landscape Architecture field such as planting, grading, storm water management and construction detailing is a plus.
- Experience in preparation of construction documentation
- Proficiency in the latest version of AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator) and SketchUp
- Revit, Rhino or proficiency with other BIM or modelling tools is considered an asset
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
