About being our Mechanical Inspector

As our Mechanical Inspector , you will join the Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) project team of 40+ planners, architects, engineers, and other technical professionals to plan & design their next wave of capital investments, including airfield improvements, terminal improvements, infrastructure improvements, and more.

Responsibility Highlights for our Mechanical Inspector

  • Possess a thorough knowledge of the materials and methods used in the installation of plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration installations.
  • Possess the ability to diagnose hazards of unsanitary conditions caused by faulty materials or poor workmanship.
  • Document daily progress of work and inspect construction activities by applying knowledge of the materials and methods used in the installation of plumbing, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration installations.
  • Diagnose and document hazards of unsanitary conditions caused by faulty materials or poor workmanship.
  • Mechanical Inspectors must have the ability to set priorities, make decisions and work effectively with minimal supervision, and deal tactfully and effectively with LAWA stakeholders, contractors, construction workers, and the public while conducting themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Minimum Qualifications to be our Mechanical Inspector

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Current ICC Certification as a Commercial Mechanical Inspector.
  • 30-hour Cal-OSHA training prior to assignment. (The 30-hour training will have been received within the last 4 years.)
  • 3+ years' experience performing mechanical inspections on large scale Public Works type projects.

Competitive compensation (Prevailing Wage for Southern California is $60.96 / hour General prevailing wage determination made by the Director of Industrial Relations pursuant to California Labor Code part 7, chapter 1, article 2, sections 1770, 1773 and 1773.
