Job Overview :
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior CNC Machinist to join our woodworking production team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machinery specifically for the woodworking industry. This role ensures that precision parts, fixtures, and components are produced to exacting specifications, maintaining high-quality craftsmanship and operational efficiency.
This position will be working in our fabrication department with industrial panel saws, routers, and edge banders. Please indicate any experience you have with similar machines in your application and any CNC experience you have.
Key Responsibilities :
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD / CAM files to determine machine operations and production requirements.Set up and operate CNC woodworking machines, such as routers, panel sizing saws, and edge banders, ensuring correct tooling, feeds, and speeds.Program CNC machines that use specialized software for woodworking production processes.Inspect and measure finished products using precision instruments to verify compliance with specifications and tolerances.Perform daily, weekly, and monthly machine maintenance, including lubrication, tool replacement, and adjustments.Maintain equipment tooling inventory.Troubleshoot machine, programming, mechanical, or tooling issues and adjust to maintain precision standards and to minimize production downtime.Maintain accurate production logs, setup sheets, and quality documentation.Train and mentor junior machinists and operators in CNC operations and safety procedures.Ensure a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.No Agencies PleaseRequirements :
Required Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or apprenticeship in CNC machining / trades preferred.Minimum 5 years of CNC machining experience in woodworking or related manufacturing environments.Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD / CAM files.Experience with CNC programming and machine operation.Strong knowledge of tooling, materials handling, and fixture setup.Ability to work independently, solve complex machining issues, and lead by example.Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.Preferred Skills and Attributes :
Experience with 3-axis CNC machinery in woodworking.Ability to optimize machining processes for efficiency, accuracy, and minimized waste.Knowledge of industry safety standards and best practices in a machine shop environment.Strong communication and teamwork abilities.CAD / CAM software proficiency (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).No Agencies Please
