Location : Onsite (5 days per week in Washington, DC)

Clearance : Active Top Secret National Security Clearance with the ability to obtain access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS / SCI)

Job Description :

The Mid System Administrator focusing on PKI will be responsible for supporting end user access and system interoperability with a focus on public key security.

This includes managing the lifecycle of digital certificates and keys, ensuring the availability and integrity of the PKI environment, and providing technical support to users and stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in system administration, including troubleshooting access issues across Linux (Red Hat) and Windows Server environments.
  • Experience with security protocols such as SSL / TLS, SAML, and certificate management, including Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) and Lightweight Directory Services (AD LDS).
  • Understanding of PKI architecture, certificate authorities, and encryption technologies.
  • Familiarity with identity management tools such as Oracle Identity Governance (OIG) Suite or equivalent IdAM solutions (desired).
  • Experience with Red Hat Identity Policy and Authentication (IPA) for access control and user authentication (desired).
  • Knowledge of eXtensible Access Control Markup Language (XACML) (desired).
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Security+, CISSP, CISM, CIAM, MS Identity and Access Administrator Associate, RedHat RHCSA) preferred.
  • Ability to provide on-call / after-hours support if needed

Responsibilities :

  • Handle support tickets related to user access issues, including troubleshooting Microsoft workstation environments, Active Directory (AD) accounts, and EtnTrust PKI certificate-related challenges.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity issues ranging from issues with PIV hardware to certificate chains to credential expiration.
  • Support PKI infrastructure, including certificate authorities (CAs), registration authorities (RAs) and other components to ensure high availability and security.
  • Manage digital certificate requests, issuance, and renewal processes.
  • Monitor PKI systems for performance and security compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security teams and identity management professionals, to enhance PKI processes, align with regulatory standards, and ensure interoperability across the environment.
  • Schedule and execute installations and upgrades, adhering to established IT policies and procedures.
  • Monitor system performance and optimize configurations to achieve maximum efficiency and performance levels.
