North 5th Street Revitalization Project (N5SRP), a community and economic development organization, enhances the quality of life for the merchants and residents in and around Olney’s North 5th Street business corridor by :
- 1) improving and maintaining the streetscape;
- 2) increasing public safety;
3) supporting existing small businesses and attracting new, viable economic uses; and
4) fostering community connectedness.

N5SRP uses the principles and practices of the Main Street Four Point Approach ™ to foster the goals of neighborhood and commercial corridor revitalization, growth and vitality on North 5th Street in Olney.
The Corridor Outreach Manager is a full time position and works in concert with the N5SRP Team to share and implement the organization work.
Each of the Corridor Managers have specific responsibilities for their assigned corridor, and both report to the Executive Director of the North 5th Street Revitalization Project.
The two Corridor Managers also work with the other N5SRP team members to implement the N5SRP’s corridor revitalization plan.
Corridor Manager’s position roles & responsibilities include :
Coordinate joint educational and promotional activities such as seasonal festivals, community events / meetings, and business meetings.
Provide technical assistance to existing and potential business and property owners.
Maintain data systems to track the process and progress of the business corridor, including economic monitoring, individual building files, photo documentation of current conditions and any rehabilitation activity, job creation and business retention.
Provide technical assistance to merchants and refer merchants to resources provided by city and state governments, and other organizations, including Kiva Zip, Restore Program, and SIP and Safe Cam programs.
Track and evaluate program outputs and outcomes.
Work with local police districts and personnel, business owners and neighbors to report public safety issues, as well as communicate concerns and strategies to address public safety challenges.
Coordinate cooperative retail promotional events with volunteer teams. Help teams improve their quality and success.
Recruit, manage and train volunteers to work on projects as committees.
Communicate Corridor interests regularly using traditional and social media.
Support managing N5SRP’s social media platform including list serve, Facebook, Constant Contact e-newsletter, web site, blogs, X, Flickr, list serves, media lists etc.
Support drafting materials for traditional and new media sources as needed.
Lead or provide administrative / execution support for special initiatives.
Enhance relationships with existing partner organizations in cooperation with the Executive Director and Corridor Development Manager.
Coordinate cooperative efforts with other corridors in the City, and market these assets through City and State tourism vehicles and other means.
Attend local and national training workshops / conferences throughout the year (travel and accommodation costs paid by the organization).
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two (2) years of professional experience or education in one or more of the following areas : business administration, community and economic development, marketing, urban design, journalism, event planning, and communications.
Volunteer / intern work experience will be considered in lieu of paid work experience.
Additional skills and experience preferred for this position :
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Project management and implementation skills, time management, and organizational skills, including attention to detail and abilities to prioritize assignments, identify sub-tasks and keep multiple assignments moving simultaneously.
Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), Google Workspace, QuickBooks (or other bookkeeping software), Microsoft Publisher (or other desktop publishing software), Constant Contact, X, Facebook, Instagram, Flicker or other photo management software
Qualifications :
Valid driver’s license.
Excellent constituent empowerment and coalition-building skills.
Proven experience in recruiting and managing volunteers.
Ability to perform manual labor under all types of weather conditions.
Work well with the public and with diverse groups of people including limited English proficiency speakers.
The following skills and experience are especially desirable :
Experience in public speaking, group facilitation, public relations and fundraising.
Small businesses or entrepreneurial experience.
Fluency in Korean, Chinese, Vietnamese, French or Spanish language skills.
A Bachelor's Degree in any of the above mentioned or related fields is preferred.
Hours :
This position requires 40 hours per week. N5SRP’s standard office hours are 10am - 6pm, Monday-Friday. Hours are subject to change due to required evening meetings and weekend events.
Compensation :
The position will be compensated $43,000-$47,000 per annum. The position receives 15 days paid vacation, 10 days paid sick leave, and all federal holidays off.
