Job Description and Duties

The Department of Financial Protection and Innovation is recruiting a Permanent Full-time Information Technology Specialist I position within the Information Technology Services Division.

This position is to be located at the department’s Sacramento office. This recruitment may be used to fill subsequent vacancies in this position within the next 180 days.

Under the general direction of the Application Development M&O Unit (ADMO) Manager, the IT Specialist I work as the Quality Assurance (QA) Tester responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through comprehensive testing and quality control processes.

This role involves creating and executing test plans, identifying, and documenting defects, and working closely with the development team to resolve issues.

The QA Tester plays a crucial role in the software development lifecycle by ensuring that products meet established standards of quality, performance, and reliability before they are released to customers.

Working Conditions

The Sacramento office is located in north Natomas. The Natomas office offers FREE PARKING, is easily accessible from INTERSTATES 5 and 80, and is also close to various dining and shopping choices in the Natomas area.

This position is subject to Title 10, 250.30 of the California Code of Regulations, the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation’s Conflict of Interest Regulations, the incumbent is required to submit a Statements of Economic Interests (Form 700) within 30 days of assuming office, annually by April 1st and within 30 days of leaving office.
