Job Title : IT Business Analyst- Journey (Olympia) Non-Permanent
Location : Thurston County Olympia, Washington, this position is a hybrid non-permanent position through April 2025.
Closes : July 14th, 2024
Salary : $6,608.00 - $8,887.00 Monthly
This does not include a 3% general salary increase effective 7 / 1
The Opportunity :
This is a hybrid position joining an exciting team of business analysts who embrace the operating principles of : Child First, Data Driven, High Quality Work, Partnership, and Accelerated Action.
This position would also be working closely with the Juvenile Rehabilitation development team, while also engaging business sponsors to gather requirements for initiatives currently in the pipeline.
This is a non-permanent position and is expected to last through April 2025.
The IT Business Analyst provides leadership and expert-level consultation to elicit and deliver business and technical development requirements and document current and future business flows and product roadmaps.
This position will ensure compliance, identify system risks and mitigate related operation, enhancements and new developments to help support the mission to, "Protect children and strengthen families so they flourish.
Some of what you will get to do :
- Lead the analysis of functional and non-functional business requirements.
- Work with development team to evaluate alternative approaches and define potential revisions to business processes.
- Conduct Usability testing with end users including prototyping potential solutions.
- Research and validate reported complex system issues.
- Develop validation methodology and analyze results to validate accuracy of correction.
- Perform as lead system analyst of assigned areas.
- Support DCYF executive leadership decision-making.
Required Qualifications :
Four (4) years as an Information Technology Specialist delivering consultative, administrative or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting / problem resolution experience.
An Associate’s degree or completion of an accredited vocational training program in an information technology or related program AND six (6) years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, stem maintenance, or troubleshooting / problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases.
A Bachelor’s degree in computer science / Information technology field AND five years of consultative, administrative, or supervisory experience in information technology analysis, system maintenance, or troubleshooting problem resolution experience, or analyzing, designing, or programming computer systems applications or databases with progressively increasing responsibilities.
In addition to the requirements above, our ideal candidate will possess working experience in some or all of the following :
- Agile software development methodology or LEAN projects.
- Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) methodologies and industry best practices.
- UX / UI design and prototype development.
- Reading and writing Structures Query Language (SQL)
