Position Summary...
What you'll do...
You will be responsible for driving the maintenance, deployment, and monitoring of the Linux OS image used by the Intelligent Store Services (Point Of Sale) organization to run their client applications on registers that our customers use.
You will design and implement enhancements to this image to support all current organization mandates / requirements.

Our team works closely with our US stores and eCommerce business to better serve customers by empowering team members, stores, and merchants with technological innovation.
From groceries and entertainment to sporting goods and crafts, Walmart U.S. offers an extensive selection that our customers value, whether they shop online at Walmart.
com, through one of our mobile apps, or in-store. Focus areas include customers, stores and employees, in-store service, merchant tools, merchant data science, and search and personalization.
What you'll do :
You will be responsible for building, maintaining, and installing Ubuntu OS images to POS registers throughout the store / club chain.
You will work with the team to build the alerting infrastructure to monitor this infrastructure in real time and respond to issues as a DevOps team.
You will work closely with the team and lead conversations with other technology experts to enhance the image to support all business and security requirements.
Finally, you will utilize Tanium Client Management software for OS and patch management in the store / club chain.
What you'll bring :
You must possess a deep and broad working knowledge of Linux and OS internals and hands-on experience with maintaining these Linux installations, preferably at scale.
You will need to have strong working experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, and Bash as well as understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and related software tools such as Git, Jenkins, Concord, etc.
You will need experience with developing solutions around tools such as Ansible, OpenStack, Chef, Puppet, and the Tanium Client Management system.

Minimum Qualifications...
Option 1 : Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 4 years’experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization-related technologies.
Option 2 : 6 years’ experience in technology infrastructure engineering across areas such as compute, storage, network, mobility or virtualization relatedtechnologies.
Preferred Qualifications...
Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, or related area and 2 Years of relevant experience in configuration management, developing automation for Provisioning and Orchestration, experience developing and managing service-level objectives (SLOs) / service level indicators (SLIs) for Infrastructure Service availability and performance
