Director of Maintenance / Housekeeping
The Grove at Valhalla Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is looking for a qualified, hard-working and Director of Maintenance / Housekeeping with long-term care experience to join their team.
Director of Maintenance / Housekeeping Job Description :
- Support the facility's philosophy of care and strive to achieve its goals and objectives.
- Supervise scheduling of sufficient staff to ensure uninterrupted service to the facility and residents at all times.
- Supervise the new employee orientation process including the explanation of personnel policies and individual duties.
- Schedule and direct the housekeeping and laundry staffs through training and in-servicing.
- Supervise purchasing, storage, and distribution of all housekeeping, cleaning, and laundry supplies.
- Maintain inventory of all facility linen in order to provide a continuous supply to the staff and residents (at a ratio of 3 : 1).
- Supervise the disposal of bio-hazardous waste in accordance with regulatory procedures.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull, move equipment, supplies, etc in excess of fifty(50) pounds as required.
- Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing of the Maintenance Department.
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with all inter-departmental personnel,.
- Assure that the plant and equipment is properly maintained for patient comfort and convenience.
- Assist in recruiting, selecting and training competent department personnel.
- Inspect the facility on a regular basis to ensure that the grounds, facility and equipment are maintained in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Maintain appropriate records of the test results.
- Establish an effective preventative maintenance program of cleaning, painting, maintaining facility equipment, etc... as necessary or approved.
- Maintain the heating / cooling system in proper working condition, as specified by the manufacturer.
- Requisition, control, and maintain an adequate level of required maintenance supplies and equipment.
Director of Maintenance / Housekeeping Requirements / Qualifications :
- Must have at leave 10 years of experience
- Knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing
- Supervisory experience preferred
Salary : Up to $75,000 a year
