Full-time

This is a full-time Image Data Engineer position in Cleveland, OH (we prioritize local hires). You will explore image processing pipelines for 3D Gaussian Splatting.

Consider this a rare job opportunity to learn and explore 3DGS and related technologies. The role is a hybrid of R&D and product development.

You will develop and implement image processing pipelines for multiview, multiscale image data generated from our hardware.

You will also design and build scalable cloud infrastructures to process, transfer, store, and manage these data.

Disqualification

Please do not apply for this position if you are not experienced in image processing. That being said, you should be familiar with all common functions in Photoshop or GIMP and describe them using math and code.

This is not a remote position. We also do not have any capacity to provide any immigration support in the near term.

Qualifications

You must be familiar with image processing, machine vision, and data engineering, and even better if you are interested in 3D rendering, deep learning, and computer graphics.

You must be proficient in Python image processing (e.g., Pillow, OpenCV, scikit-image, and ITK). You must be knowledgeable in traditional computer vision and image processing techniques.

Knowledge of AI image processing is desired. At a minimum, you should be able to implement and optimize deep learning algorithms developed by others.

If you find image processing is not just about coding, if you are comfortable with using convenient software (e.g., Photoshop, GIMP, ImageJ, etc.

to prototype new pipelines, and if you can quickly convert the pipeline into code, you are a great fit for this position.

Finally, we will build our data processing infrastructure on the could, so your experience with cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc.) comes in handy.

About OpsiClear

At OpsiClear, we revolutionize clinical image visualization. We integrate hardware and software to generate vivid and comprehensive 3D visualizations of clinically relevant objects, as small as a cell and as big as your body.

Leveraging AI and AR, we unlock novel clinical insights, provide comprehensive visual documentation, enhance diagnostic accuracy, and improve the clinical experience.

Other things you should know

We are an early-stage startup. You will be one of the first members of our team, which means you will help shape our culture and build our foundation.

You will have more freedom to make critical decisions, and you should feel comfortable criticizing or confronting decisions from others.

It also means you must be proactive, responsible, and self-motivated. Working in a very small team also means you may feel a little bit lonely, lost, and unsupported.

Administrative assistance is minimal. Policies can be unclear. You should be prepared for that.

Interview Process

Pre-interview ( 15-30 min) : We introduce ourselves, ask basic questions, and determine if we like each other.

Behavioral interview ( 30-45 min) : We talk about your technical background, previous work experience, etc.

Technical interview(s) ( 60 min) : There will be one or two technical interviews. The interviews evaluate your proficiency in the skills needed for this position.

You will prepare your own development environment and screen share your problem-solving process. We will provide instructions before the interview.

Last few things

You may be assigned to extra startup operational jobs, but we will keep things balanced across the team.

We will work with a lot of images relevant to surgery. Make sure you are not uncomfortable with those. We value work-life balance, but there will be times of job overload occasionally.
