Paralegal I - Labor & Employment Group

The Opportunity : Contribute To The Growth Of Your Career.

Under the direction of attorneys, perform a number of legal support functions for the Labor and Employment group within the Legal Department.

Prepares initial drafts of correspondence and legal documents. Communicates with business stakeholders and outside counsel about ongoing matters.

Carefully gathers factual information from the business for use by internal and outside counsel. Assembles data and documents in formats easily usable for attorneys on the team.

Maintains a focus on accuracy as well as active problem solving in completing all tasks. Handles case management and legal billing matters.

Your Impact :

Support of Labor and Employment Attorneys : Notifies business stakeholders of new claims and gathers factual information in connection with defense of those claims.

Supports Attorneys with administrative agency charges and discovery. Conducts all necessary follow up for fact gathering, keeping customer service of our client base top of mind at all times.

Communicates with business teams regarding claims status, legal hold requirements and matter conclusion.

Provides ongoing assistance with file management. Maintains all active files and ensures completeness during life of a matter and at file closing.

Provides general assistance to lawyers as requested, including on administrative matters. Assists team with matter management, including maintenance of team’s docket, matter log / spreadsheets and other similar matter tracking mechanisms.

Coordinates legal billing matters. Assists lawyers with project management tasks. Assists with general administrative duties including mail review and calendaring.

Conducts legal research and performs special projects as required.

Who We Are Looking For : You.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, law or a related field
  • Paralegal certificate and / or extensive legal training
  • 3+ years of legal experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing all tasks.
  • Superior organizational skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Positive attitude and solid work ethic.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word and Excel.

This position has a starting pay range of $ to $ per hour.

Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience.
