Standard Specialist - Civil Global Training Organization
Overview :
This is an exciting position that will afford the right candidate an opportunity to train and influence the global CAE instructor cadre.
As part of the CAE Civil Global Training Organization (CGTO), the Standards Specialist will lead CAE instructors through cutting-edge initiatives utilizing industry-leading training programs such as : Competency-Based Training and Assessment (CBTA), CAE’s Instructor Pilot Performance Monitoring (IPPM) program and CAE RISE.
The Standard Specialist will leverage their expertise across the CAE global training network with direct impact on current and future aviation training initiatives.
This role is physically based in Las Vegas at the training center with hybrid duties and international travel as required.
Scope of Work :
- Work schedule consists of a five-day work week with infrequent requirements to work on weekends or after regularly scheduled business hours
- Regularly deliver training to the global instructor staff via classroom instruction, both in-person and in a virtual environment
- Regularly monitor instructor performance by direct observation of training delivery in classroom, flight training devices, and flight simulators
- Act as primary standards support for local instructors, training center leadership, and staff to ensure all aspects of training delivery are aligned and standardized
- Develop instructor training content and courseware, including relevant support materials that support the latest industry initiatives, global training objectives, and regulatory mandates
- Implement, monitor, and guide training standards, policies and procedures as outlined by CAE global training initiatives through formal instruction and individual mentorship
- Work regularly and closely with aviation regulators such as EASA, FAA, and other national aviation authorities
- Support change management initiatives across the global training network
Qualifications :
- Possess a high level of knowledge and interest across the following areas : FAA, other national aviation authorities, international aviation organizations, and current aviation industry initiatives
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to execute complex tasks, and the ability to work effectively in a team and without supervision
- Possess above average verbal and written communication abilities
- Possess courseware development skills
- Demonstrate proficient computer skills including distance learning applications : MS Office, MS Teams, WEBEX, Zoom, etc.
Experience :
- Hold or have held an Air Transport License or equivalent experience
- Previous Instructor and / or Examiner experience required, with preference given to those candidates with experience a Part 142 or ATO environment
- Training and / or flight operations experience in aviation-related organization
