POSITION SUMMARY :
We are seeking a Speech Pathologist to :
- Join our world-class team of doctors, nurses and other health care professionals in providing everything from preventive health care to highly specialized programs.
- Provide quality care in a compassionate patient- and family- centered environment.
- Plan, evaluate and administer Speech Therapy services and care to patients in the home as prescribed by referring physician on an intermittent basis in accordance with Agency policies.
- Coordinate family involvement in assessment and treatment of the patient.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement activities and educational experiences in support of departmental philosophy and objectives, as well as Health System initiatives.
EDUCATION / TRAINING :
Master's Degree in Speech Language pathology.
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION :
- Clinical competency Bi-annual and CPR certification.
- Current license from the State of Illinois or in the process of acquiring licensure. An applicant for employment as a physical, occupational, or speech therapist must present acceptable evidence of licensure or authorization to test at the time of employment.
An applicant who fails to provide this documentation will not be hired. A new employee will not be allowed to work as a therapist or assistant until evidence of licensure eligibility is provided.
Valid State driver's license and proof of liability insurance.
EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / ABILITIES :
- Home Care experience preferred.
- Must be skilled in a broad range of modalities with clear understanding of indications and contradictions for each.
- Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing in a caring, considerate and concerned manner.
- Knowledge of TJC, IDPH and CMS rules and regulations.
- Willingness to accept responsibility.
- Ability to direct technical, assistant staff and students and organize work assignments.
- Leadership skills essential to the position.
- Successful completion of annual clinical, age and job specific competencies and skill verification tools required.
