Successful candidate will be a safety focused individual who is, well-rounded in industrial electrical skills, repair experience and knowledge of a broad range of complex facility systems.
This position requires excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to perform complex technical tasks as well as leading and training team members.
Schedule : Sunday-Thursday 7 : 00 PM to 3 : 30 AM
KEYRESPONSIBILITIES :
- General Building and Office Maintenance.
- Maintenance, modification, trouble shooting, and repair of a wide variety of challenging electronic and electro-mechanical systems in a distribution center environment.
- Multiple business unit support.
- Provide support for all facility systems, departments and equipment including but not limited to Conveyors, Refrigeration, Ultra Low Freezers, Printers, dock levelers, Compressors and other automated technologies.
- Capacity to learn all phases of facility maintenance including electrical troubleshooting.
- Self-starter in new system and equipment learning and training.
- Perform scheduled & unscheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) tasks.
- Self-starter in new equipment learning, training & ability to lead preventative maintenance efforts.
- Demonstrate skills in all phases of facility maintenance and ability to participate as a member of a multi-functional cultural team.
REQUIREMENTS (Specific knowledge, skills, education, and abilities) :
- Aptitude for troubleshooting control systems ranging from relay logic to microprocessor-based controls.
- Ability to learn the NEC and some light electrical construction experience is desired.
- Moderate ability to read and understand electrical schematics is required.
- Ability to learn and desire to understand electrical and mechanical systems including transformers, generators, switchgear, AC / DC drives, PLC’s, UPS systems, compressors, pallet wrappers, air handling units and fire pump systems.
- Ability to learn and follow LOTO and OSHA regulations.
- Preferred trade school certification, or other verifiable training in a relevant technical field.
- Working knowledge of Mechanical / HVAC, Electrical, or a combination of both.
- Ability to learn quickly and address issues as they arise during normal working hours or when on call.
- Applicants must have flexibility with work hours and days, to include holidays and short notice call ins.
- Employee will be issued a company phone for emergency or work-related matters.
- Ability to communicate effectively between facilities team, outside vendors, operations, and office staff.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :
Typically requires 3+ years of related experience.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS :
- 2+ years of experience in Distribution Facilities Maintenance.
- Detailed working / troubleshooting knowledge of PLC logic and warehouse control systems.
- Proven ability to read and comprehend complex electrical, mechanical and automation system prints quickly and have the ability to convey information to Facility Manager and Operations team under high pressure situations.
- Working knowledge of all "trade" categories, including, but not limited to Electrical, Mechanical, Temperature controls systems and HVAC.
Typical system knowledge of transformers, generators, switchgear, AC / DC drives, PLC’s, UPS systems, air handling units and fire pumps.
- Proven leadership / team building skills which adhere to McKesson’s I2CARE (Integrity, Customer Centered, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) principals.
- Aptitude to organization self as well as other team member activities.
- Working knowledge of or capacity to learn PC software such as Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CMMS (Maintenance Connection), Warehouse Control Systems and other automation software.
- Work experience with emphasis on building maintenance and equipment maintenance (pick / pack / ship) with emphasis on warehouse conveyor and automation equipment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS :
- General office demands as well as the ability to meet demands of facilities work which includes lifting / carry items up to 100 pounds and climbing ladders.
- Ability to operate motor vehicles, power equipment including scissor lifts, boom lifts, man-lifts, reach trucks, scrubbers and sweepers.
