Summary :
The Answers in Genesis IT department is currently seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide expertise in design, configuration, documentation, monitoring and troubleshooting of our enterprise infrastructure including our multi-location WAN.
This position will be responsible for implementing and optimizing servers, VMs, SANs, DR and Business Continuity plans, infrastructure upgrades, backups, etc.
Consequently, this position requires superb technical skill displayed in initiative, resourcefulness, and persistence in problem solving & process optimization.
This position is also accountable for displaying our Core Values when interfacing with both internal and external customers to ensure that the message and mission of Answers in Genesis is portrayed in an effective and God honoring fashion.
Responsibilities
- Research, design, install, configure, troubleshoot, support, and optimize server-level storage hardware and software such as Quantum SAN, VMware vSAN, HPE Simplivity, Pure Storage.
- Manage storage hardware and networks including, monitoring, alerts, malware protection, backups, SAN snapshots, replication, DR plans, etc.
- Technical analysis of performance and availability of storage devices, systems, and networks.
- Collaborate with IT and Cybersecurity teams in the design, planning, and implementation of enterprise level technological.
- Documentation of technological environment, implementation procedures, Change Control documentation, Design documents, Standard Operating Procedures, etc.
- Research emerging technological tools for possible use in ministry.
- Provide technical oversight for outsourced and co-sourced enterprise-level IT projects.
