The Biomedical Science Careers Program (BSCP) provides students of every race, ethnic background, gender and financial status with encouragement, support and guidance need for the successful pursuit of biomedical science and other science-related careers.
BSCP programs are aimed at students, trainees and junior faculty.
This position is an integral part of the BSCP management team and will report to Assistant Director of Operations and Programming.
The program coordinator will :
- Manage execution and implementation of conferences / workshops / symposia / virtual programming, meetings and fundraising events.
- Responsible for updating, implementing and managing timelines for multiple conferences / programs.
- Develop, design and oversee production of program collateral, program books, guides. Oversee all materials and resources developed for BSCP website and distributed to program attendees and virtual participants.
- Manage and negotiate event logistics.
- Act as day-to-day liaison to the program manager of the New England Science Symposium (NESS).
- Work with AD to Identify and recruit speakers, panelists, advisors, planning committee members and mentors.
- Manage all communications, and logistics with speakers, panelists, advisors, planning committee members and advisors.
- Manage multiple committees and act as liaison with committee members in identifying advisors, panelists and resources for BSCP programming.
- Work directly with AD to plan and manage an annual calendar of events, activities and important program deadlines.
- Collaborate with BSCP management team to implement strategies to increase attendance at conferences / programs.
- Manage internal and external inquiries from faculty, mentors, academic institutions, biotechnology / pharmaceutical organizations, students / fellows and parents.
- Supervise co-op students and program volunteers.
- Work effectively within a culture inclusive of individuals with diverse backgrounds, styles, abilities, and motivations, and appreciate and leverage the capabilities, insights, and ideas of all individuals.
