Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role in the Los Angeles area for a Mechanical Engineer - Thermodynamics . The Mechanical Engineer - Thermodynamics will be responsible for the from-scratch sizing and development of design, fluid modeling, analysis, and testing of thermodynamic systems including turbomachinery, heat exchangers and pumps .
The role will grow to work with a team of other thermodynamics and turbomachinery engineers as well as hardware design, prototyping and manufacturing engineers to develop from-scratch and novel hardware at increasingly larger scales.
Compensation includes significant equity stake in the startup.
Qualifications
- Expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer
- Experience with the development of production turbomachinery
- Proficiency in fluid modeling and simulation techniques
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and team-working skills
- Highly self-motivated
- Experience in the aerospace, automotive, or power generation industries is a plus
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is a plus
