Position Overview The Private Equity Associate will play a crucial role in supporting the firm's mergers and acquisitions (M&A) efforts, specifically focusing on financial consolidation, modeling, and transaction execution.
This role involves working closely with potential sellers to consolidate and translate their financial data into actionable insights, building financial models to evaluate acquisition targets, and supporting the acquisition process from Letter of Intent (LOI) through post-deal integration.
Key Responsibilities Financial Data Analysis & Consolidation : Collaborate with potential sellers to gather, consolidate, and translate financial data, including income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
Financial Modeling : Develop and maintain detailed financial models to assess the financial health and viability of acquisition targets.
This includes conducting sensitivity analyses, evaluating debt structures, and forecasting future financial performance.
Due Diligence Support : Assist in financial due diligence processes by reviewing historical financial performance, working capital requirements, and identifying key financial risks and opportunities.
Transaction Support : Play an active role throughout the acquisition process, from LOI through closing. Prepare and manage key transaction documents, liaise with legal, tax, and compliance teams, and ensure a smooth deal execution.
Post-Deal Integration : Support the integration of acquired companies, including the harmonization of financial reporting systems, processes, and data.
Work with portfolio companies to ensure alignment with the firm’s operational and financial objectives. Cross-Functional Collaboration : Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including investment professionals, legal advisors, portfolio management teams, and sellers, to drive successful outcomes for the transaction.
Market & Industry Research : Conduct industry and market research to identify trends, competitive dynamics, and potential risks or opportunities that may affect transaction strategy.
Qualifications Education : Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field. MBA, CFA, or CPA is a plus.
Experience : 2-4 years of experience in private equity, investment banking, corporate finance, or transaction advisory services, with a focus on M&A, financial modeling, and due diligence.
Technical Skills : Advanced proficiency in financial modeling and analysis (Excel, financial software). Strong knowledge of financial statements, GAAP accounting, and valuation methodologies.
Analytical Skills : Ability to analyze and interpret complex financial data, translate it into actionable insights, and present findings clearly and concisely.
Communication Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with sellers, senior management, and external advisors.
Proven ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. Detail-Oriented : High attention to detail, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
