Position Overview :

Kong Academy empowers kids by teaching social and emotional skills through play and movement.

We are looking for enthusiastic, fun, and engaging coaches to join our team as either Lead Coaches or Assistant Coaches. This unique position allows candidates to apply for the Lead Coach role if they have sufficient experience or consider the Assistant Coach role if they are still developing their skills.

Our coaches prepare students for a lifetime of movement and growth while helping them develop character and confidence.

Responsibilities for Lead Coach :

Plan, develop, and lead classes based on the Kong Academy Method, focusing on Social Emotional Learning, Development of Executive Functioning Skills, and Movement
Mentor and guide Assistant Coaches in their roles and responsibilities
Create an inspiring and enriching atmosphere for students and coaches
Ensure safety of students and manage behavioral issues
Provide feedback for children and track their progress
Communicate effectively with parents and staff members
Participate in staff training and meetings
Maintain equipment and ensure proper usage
Collaborate with the Management to address any concerns or needs

Responsibilities for Assistant Coach :

Assist the Main / Lead Coach during classes
Ensure safety and prevent behavioral issues
Maintain high energy level, enthusiasm, and engagement during class
Provide encouragement to reinforce directions from Main / Lead Coach
Support coaches in setting up the class and cleaning up at the end
Build professional working relationships with students and parents
Participate in designated staff training and meetings

Qualifications and Skills for Lead Coach :

3+ years experience working with children, preferably in a coaching or teaching capacity
Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
Strong knowledge of the Kong Academy Method and its principles
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Strong organizational and time management abilities
CPR and First Aid certification (preferred)

Qualifications and Skills for Assistant Coach :

1+ year experience working with children
Excellent communication skills
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
Strong organizational skills
Self-motivated and independent
Passion and patience for teaching children
