The Role :

Cognizant is looking for an experienced and innovative Senior Python Developer who will be responsible for designing and architecting high-performance Java-based enterprise systems.

They work closely with business stakeholders software developers and IT teams to create scalable secure and efficient solutions.

This role involves defining architecture guidelines ensuring adherence to best practices and making technology decisions to align with long-term business objectives.

Location : Hartford CT (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Senior Python Developers should be comfortable in writing production software in Python, RESTful APIs and microservices architecture :
• Experience with RESTful APIs and microservices architecture, and an understanding of how to design and implement them effectively
• The position is focused on python development of components for a software application platform.
• The candidate will develop and support the middle layer of the application to build, test, and deploy RESTful micro services, create shared services components.
• Engineer capable of designing solutions, writing code, testing code, automating test and deployment.
• Collaborate with teams to ensure comprehensive test coverage and identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
• Engage with stakeholders to understand their needs and provide technical solutions that align with business objectives.

Required Skills :

• 5+ years of experience working as a Python, Restful API Development skills
• 2+ yrs of micro services development
• Proficient in writing Unit Tests tools
• Use of Code coverage tools
• 2 + years in Typescript / React JS
• Good written, verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Familiar with Agile delivery process
• Must be analytical and self-motivated.
• Work Effectively within a global team environment

The annual salary for this position is between $64,025 - $94,500 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.

This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
