Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Analyst, to work on an auditing, procurement, and budgeting project. The ideal candidate will possess analytical skills, and have a strong understanding of accounts payable functions, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
We're most interested in candidates that have worked in non-profit, or municipal, government agencies.
Responsibilities
Approve and process expenses, and accounts payable transactions including invoices and other payment requests that need to be sent to the Comptroller
Review invoices from vendors to ensure their legitimacy for payment
Perform audits based on knowledge of contract standards to determine if invoices match vendor's budgets
Ensure that requests for payments have the correct budgeted rates
Reconcile vendors statements, and resolve any discrepancies or issues with vendors in relation to items such as overspending, and budget revisions
Qualifications
Previous government, non-profit, or social services experience is required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
1 - 2 years in accounting or related field
Strong understanding of Accounts Payable processing
Strong organizational, and analytical skills
Previous experience in accounts payable is required, additional experience with procurement and auditing experience is highly desired
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Must have the ability to learn new systems in a timely fashion
