HSB is currently seeking a Senior Reinsurance Contracts Specialist. As a Senior Reinsurance Contracts Specialist, you will be responsible for the following :
- Negotiate, formalize, and document assumed reinsurance contracts and other legal documents for all lines of business between HSB and assigned client companies in compliance with internal standards and processes.
- Lead contract negotiations with assigned client companies and act as a contract subject matter expert.
- Advocate for HSB’s position, provide contract interpretations, and develop solutions to contract-related issues.
Qualifications
Education and Experience :
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced degree or professional designation in Insurance is a plus.
- 5+ years experience drafting and negotiating assumed or ceded reinsurance contracts is preferred.
- Previous experience with contracts or some training in contract law.
- Experience working in a team environment.
- Experience with rating, rules, and primary coverage forms is preferred.
- Experience partnering with IT to manage or support system implementations is a plus.
- Experience with operational process design and implementation is a plus.
Knowledge and Skills :
- Knowledge of insurance and reinsurance coverages (equipment breakdown, property, cyber, EPL).
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Knowledge of HSB proprietary systems is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
