Job Description

  • Serves as Program Manager for Graduate Medical Education (GME) in the Department of Family and Community Medicine. Under the direction and in partnership with the Residency Program Director, manages, implements and oversees all GME education programs including Family Medicine residency training and multiple fellowship training programs;
  • oversees continuing medical education programs for GME education faculty and trainees; facilitates the development of long-term strategic program initiates, objectives and operational plans;
  • serves as liaison to faculty and organizations regarding GME training program; develops, implements and interprets policies, procedures and services;
  • monitors and ensures that departmental GME training programs are in compliance with national regulations; collaborates with Graduate Medical Education Office and external organizations;
  • manages and supervises the daily functions of the residency training program; develops and establishes improvements to overall effectiveness of the GME education goals set by the department;
  • effectively communicates with physicians, trainees, and staff; manages, directs work flow and supervises necessary administrative paperwork and records to support program including fiscal, personnel, and trainee records;
  • serves on residency committees; manages resident recruitment activities; uses Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS) to review applications;

maintains a web-based resident evaluation system (MedHub) for the residency program, manages and maintains residency program data in ACGME and ABFM systems.

Minimum Education Required

Master's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

Required Qualifications

  • Masters Degree in education or relevant field or an equivalent combination of education and experience required; experience in program implementation, planning and administration required;
  • experience in curriculum , organizational assessment, and evaluation desired; knowledge of ACGME program requirements and institutional GME requirements including regulatory and accreditation standards desired;

computer literacy with demonstrated experience with Student Information System (SIS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) desired.

Requires successful completion of a background check; qualified candidates may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen.
