General Description
Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Welding Supervisor will oversee all welding department personnel and resources on 1st shift.
This position is responsible for supporting company policies, safety within the department, efficiency, and assisting with future planning of equipment, training, and personnel.
The Welding supervisor will also work hand in hand with other departments to provide products accurately and in accordance with the production schedule.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Supervision of employees in the department to include signoff of payroll hours, disciplinary actions / plans and yearly performance reviews.
- Maintain safety as the focus when completing all tasks and assigning work.
- Lead and direct the work of others while completing assigned tasks in a safe and timely manner.
- Facilitate the operations of the weld department to ensure volume, cost and quality standards are achieved.
- Actively works within ERP & planning software to validate and execute production schedule.
- Work closely with team leads and supervisor from 2nd shift to ensure all team members are aligned on strategy and job priorities.
- Ensure materials and workforce resources are adequate to meet the production schedule.
- Produces Finished parts from raw materials using A wide range of welding Process. IE. Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW / MIG), Gas Tungsten Arc Gas Welding (GTAW / TIG), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).
- Demonstrate a wide degree of creativity and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Establish preventative actions to meet specific Safety & Environmental Goals.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to address and resolve internal and external problems.
- Ensure compliance with all housekeeping procedures, and all quality and safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

- Five to ten years of leadership experience in a manufacturing or welding environment.
- Two years' experience rigging weldments and material in a safe manner.
Education and / or Experience
- Requires High school Diploma or equivalent.
- Five years of hands on welding experience.
