Fabricator
Summary
The basic function of the Fabricator is to measure, cut, punch, bend, and fasten chassis and face panels and sub-assemblies used in the manufacture of all scoreboard products.
This is an hourly position based in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities
- Read the production schedule and determine what must be completed before the end of the day.
- Inspect each sheet of metal for flaws and use measuring tape to ensure the correct size.
- Determine how best to efficiently utilize one sheet of metal for multiple parts.
- Move materials as needed to supply fabrication and transfer material to other departments.
- Operate plasma tables, shear, brakes, CNC, and other fabrication equipment.
- Inspect each fabricated sub assembly for correctness prior to transferring it to another department.
- Crosstrain in all steps of the fabrication process for assigned product family.
- Test and inspect cable and other electronic assemblies.
- Wears PPE always when using tools and equipment.
- Accurately record time for labor costing and payroll purposes.
- Periodically assist other departments with their job functions when directed by the supervisor.
Qualifications / Skills :
- Must demonstrate the ability to properly handle and modify sheet metal to an acceptable quality level.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and customers.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work safely.
- Must be able to perform basic math skills and read a tape measure to 1 / 16 of an inc.
- Prior experience working with metal in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
Education and Licensing
- High School Diploma or GED
- A minimum of one year of related experience is preferred.
