Responsibilities
- Accurately and efficiently cook meats, fish, vegetables, soups, and other hot food products.
- Prepare and portion food products before cooking.
- Perform duties in final plate preparation, including plating, garnishing, and preparing appropriate garnishes.
- Work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment that requires multitasking.
- Have knowledge and understanding of Health Department Codes.
- Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, and vegetables for cooking using various kitchen equipment.
- Assume 100% responsibility for the quality of products served.
- Know and consistently comply with standard portion sizes, cooking methods, quality standards, and kitchen rules, policies, and procedures.
- Stock and maintain sufficient levels of food products at line stations for a smooth service period.
- Portion food products before cooking according to standard sizes and recipe specifications.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary work station area, including tables, shelves, grills, broilers, fryers, pasta cookers, sauté burners, convection ovens, flat-top ranges, and refrigeration equipment.
- Prepare items for broiling, grilling, frying, sautéing, or other cooking methods.
- Follow proper plate presentation and garnish setup for all dishes.
- Handle, store, and rotate all products properly.
- Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods as needed.
- Close the kitchen properly and follow the closing checklist for kitchen stations. Assist others in closing the kitchen.
- Attend all scheduled employee meetings and bring suggestions for improvement.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or manager-on-duty.
Requirements
- Culinary Skills : Previous experience as a Line Cook or similar role is preferred.
- Team Player : Ability to collaborate effectively within a kitchen team.
- Adaptability : Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
- Attention to Detail : Precise attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
- Physical Stamina : Ability to stand for extended periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment.
