LHH is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for a contract opportunity with a company in Indianapolis, IN. In this position you will play a critical role in managing and optimizing the logistics and supply chain operations.
You will be responsible for coordinating the transportation, storage, and delivery of goods, ensuring timely and cost-effective movement.
This position requires at least two years of relevant experience in logistics or supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods, including selecting carriers, negotiating rates, and scheduling shipments.
Act as the primary point of contact between suppliers, carriers, and internal teams, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the logistics process.
Prepare and maintain accurate shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the inventory team to ensure adequate stock levels and efficient turnover.
Address and resolve any issues related to transportation delays, damaged goods, or discrepancies in shipments.
Ensure that all logistics operations comply with relevant regulations and company policies, including safety and environmental guidelines.
Track and analyze logistics metrics, providing reports and insights to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications
Education : Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Experience : A minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management.
Skills :
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Knowledge of transportation regulations and customs procedures is a plus.
Attributes : Problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
Assignment Length
4-5 months (potential for extension or permanent hire)
Pay Details : $21.00 to $23.00 per hour
