This Laboratory Technical Specialist I will be responsible for :
- Designing, developing, implementing and evaluating new areas of patient testing in the specific discipline.
- Adapting and modifying technology for application unique to the pediatric laboratory environment.
- Developing policies, procedures and quality control systems to support new areas of testing.
- Analyzing cost and financial impact of new testing.
- Developing a program to train and assure the competence and proficiency of technical staff in the theory, interpretation of results and practice of new testing areas.
- Training the trainers for newly developed procedures.
- May assign projects and activities related to new equipment or test validation and implementation to staff.
To qualify, you must have :
Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Lab Science + 5 or more years clinical laboratory experience
Meets all of level III plus :
- Expertise in focused discipline of laboratory medicine
- Expertise in innovative and original clinical or scientific research testing
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for testing systems including analyzers
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
