Fonroche Lighting America has a career opportunity for a Application Design Engineer who wants to channel their energy into developing project proposals and construction documents toward making autonomous solar lighting the standard in public outdoor lighting infrastructure.

The Application Design Engineer is responsible for sizing solar lighting systems, drafting lighting plan sets, compiling technical data into design proposals, preparing specification documents, creating quotes within CRM, maintaining and updating products in CRM system, and help lead continual technical proposal improvements.

Your exceptional attention to detail will lead to helping the sales team win projects and grow customer accounts.

Responsibilities :

• Gain a detailed understanding of solar lighting systems and utilize on creating superior project proposals
• Work closely with our sales team to assess our project opportunities and define the scope of our solutions
• Create Application Designs, proposing the value of solar lighting to customers
• Assess product system sizing and energy balance calculations for projects
• Create project specific lighting layouts, 3D light renderings and lighting design plans, including the preparation of a BOM.
• Refine solar lighting system and photometric designs to optimize the value proposition to our customers
• Educate and train team members as well as our customers on our products and solutions
• Participate in, and contribute to product development initiatives, by offering insight into customer needs and industry requirements
• Prepare Quotes
• Travel occasionally to customer and project sites to assist sales with gathering information or presenting solutions

Desirable Experience & Competencies

• Education, or experience in drafting, engineering, or technical project development
• Strong sense for technical details while being creative in finding solutions
• Excellent time management, organization, and prioritization skills
• Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD, AGi32, Dialux, Salesforce is a plus
• High level of integrity and passion creating quality proposals
• Knowledge of LED lighting, solar, and / or batteries is a plus
• Experience in working with sales teams and processes
• Clear data organization, writing, documentation, and presentations skills
