POSITION : 6300B- Payroll Specialist (Full Time Regular)

DUTIES : Following are the qualifications and competencies required to perform the essential functions of this position.
Qualifications may be subject to modification based on the Americans with Disabilities Act.
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Enters, maintains, and / or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees’ new hires, hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, address changes, and other information.
- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions (401K, Life Insurance).
- Process semi-monthly payroll using MIP ABILA payroll software and HR Management Module.
- Issues, or reissues, physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.
- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills / Abilities :
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn payroll software.
Education and Experience :
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum two years of direct payroll processing experience.
- Experience with ADP or Paycheck software preferred.
Physical Requirements :
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
