Job Title : Maintenance Mechanic
Job Description
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring the efficiency, safety, and accuracy of preventative maintenance duties and special projects for the plant.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance by operating and testing systems and equipment to ensure ongoing function and reliability.
- Restore, repair, rebuild, and replace faulty or inoperative components and parts.
- Manage inventory of new and used spare parts by analyzing experience / failures and anticipating future needs.
- Inspect the overall physical condition of the warehouse, plant, and equipment; maintain organization and cleanliness of maintenance area, as well as all operational facilities.
- Perform grounds maintenance.
- Strict adherence to Safety Policies & Procedures, following OSHA, FSMA, and other government regulations.
- Flexibility, overtime, and intermittent Saturday shifts are needed to perform duties with other maintenance team members.
Essential Skills
- 2+ years' experience in industrial maintenance.
- Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, air systems, and flow processes.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, mechanical, electrical, welding, hydraulics, and pneumatics, including working with 3-phase systems.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in feed / food manufacturing is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and proactive / results orientation.
- Strong problem-solving and analysis skills.
- Ability to interpret documents such as safety procedures, equipment manuals, and SOPs.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Utilize a growth mindset to meet job expectations, such as improvement of maintenance SOPs.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and ERP software in a production environment is a plus.

Work Environment
This role involves working in a plant environment with a focus on efficiency, safety, and accuracy. The position requires flexibility, including overtime and intermittent Saturday shifts.
The company supplies private label custom trace mineral and vitamin premixes to Feed Mills, Dealers, and Independent Consultants with much of the business focused on the dairy industry.
The key strengths of the company include Blending, Packaging, and Distribution. With approximately 40 employees, the company has a significant market presence in New York and New England.
