The Division of Access and Engagement at The University of Tennessee is seeking a highly motivated Communications Coordinator to join our team!
About the Role
As our Communications Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in shaping our division's narrative through various written mediums.

Key Responsibilities
Content creation
- Write and edit news stories, articles, and feature pieces that are accurate, engaging, and well-researched.
- Conduct interviews and research to gather information for news and feature articles.
- Ensure all content adheres to university editorial standards and guidelines.
Social media management
- Develop and implement a social media strategy to enhance division’s online presence and engagement.
- Create, curate, and manage published social media content (LinkedIn).
- Monitor social media trends and audience engagement and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Respond to comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
Email Marketing
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns to promote content, events, and other initiatives.
- Write compelling email copy and create engaging subject lines.
- Monitor and analyze campaign performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain and segment email lists to ensure targeted and effective communication.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, English, marketing, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a writer, journalist, or in a similar role.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and email marketing tools.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational abilities.
- Strong research skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
