POSITION SUMMARY

The YMCA of Metropolitan Denver is seeking an experienced and dynamic VP of Program Strategy and Impact to lead and oversee the implementation of strategic initiatives and operational excellence of revenue-generating programs such as Early Learning Education, Youth Development, Sports, and off-site program locations.

Reporting directly to the CEO, the incumbent will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the organization's program vision, strategy, and operational performance to achieve its mission of strengthening community while staying abreast of external environment changes (i.

e. demographics, AI, workforce, economy, etc.) to ensure that the Y of Metro Denver is up to date on current trends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Collaborate with the CEO and Board of Directors, Executive Leadership and other organizational and community leaders to develop and implement the organizations strategic plan tied to programs.
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals and ensure alignment with the overall mission.
  • Lead the strategic planning process and monitor the execution of strategic initiatives related to programs.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring high standards of performance and service delivery.
  • Manage and improve and where necessary, implement internal processes to enhance efficiency, effectiveness and outcomes.
  • Ensure compliance with YMCA of the USA, YMCA of Metro Denver, state, and local policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and monitor performance metrics to ensure operational goals and outcomes are met and achieved.
  • Lead and mentor a team of department heads of each respective department.
  • Promote a culture of responsibility, accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Implement effective talent management strategies to attract, retain, and develop a high performing diverse workforce.
  • In collaboration with the CFO, develop and manage the annual budget for areas of responsibility.
  • Ensure financial sustainability through prudent fiscal management and resource allocation.
  • Identify opportunities for revenue growth, new funding streams, and cost optimization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including community partners, donors, members and our communities.
  • Represent the YMCA in community forums, partnerships, and strategic alliances.
  • Represent the YMCA's mission and values within the community.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Masters Degree, or greater in education, with 10 or more years of successful executive leadership or equivalent.
  • Proven success in developing and implementing long-term strategic initiatives at a senior level.
  • Experience working with key stakeholders, including board members and external partners.
  • Strong background in change management, driving organizational transformation, and fostering collaboration across departments.
  • Ability to mentor and coach senior leaders and direct reports to enhance their strategic capabilities.
  • Commitment to shared accountability, teamwork, and creative leadership.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general business matters required including strategic planning, budget development, financial reporting, Fundraising KPIs and OKR management.
  • Proven ability to develop innovative solutions to complex challenges.
  • Proven track record in advocacy and relationship-building, both internally and externally.
  • Experience in resource allocation, ensuring that human and financial resources are effectively utilized to support long-term objectives.
  • Deep knowledge of the sector or industry in which the organization operates (e.g., social impact, sustainability, program development).
  • Ability to adapt to changing environments, such as shifts in policy, economic conditions, or market trends that impact the organization.
  • Experience in leading innovation initiatives to drive growth, efficiency, and impact.
