This is a full-time position Monday-Friday, 9-5pm, hours may vary and MUST be flexible with scheduling.
Objective :
We are looking for an experienced recruiter to join our HR team in identifying hiring needs and filling job openings. The responsibilities of a recruiter include identifying future hiring needs, designing job descriptions, sourcing candidates through databases and applicant tracking systems, conducting interviews, filing paperwork, and keeping abreast of employment law and legislation.
The Recruiter will also monitor new and existing employee files / folders along with fully onboarding new hires.
The successful recruiter will have excellent interpersonal skills, be organized and detail-oriented, remain up to date with employment legislature, and will stay informed of company hiring events such as job fairs that they will need to attend and participate in.
The recruiter will have extensive experience in assessing candidates' skills, experience, and relevant knowledge and compare them to job requirements.

- Identifying future hiring needs and developing job descriptions and specifications.
- Collaborating with department managers to compile a consistent list of requirements.
- Attracting suitable candidates through databases, online employment forums, applicant tracking systems, etc.
- Conducting interviews and sorting through applicants to fill open positions.
- Assessing applicants' knowledge, skills, and experience to best suit open positions.
- Completing paperwork for new hires.
- Promoting the company's reputation and attractiveness as a good employment opportunity.
- Will complete full onboarding for new hires.
- Providing recruitment reports to direct supervisor and department managers.
- Posting new vacancies through our ADP platform.
- Ensuring that ADP profiles for new hires are updated and accurate.
Required Education and Experience :
- bachelor's degree required.
- The ability to conduct different types of interviews.
- Experience with recruitment processes and databases.
- The ability to follow recruiting strategies.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good decision-making skills.
- A standard knowledge of employment law and legislation.
- Preferred : Experience in non-profit or social services.
Work Environment : This job operates in an office environment. There will be occasional travel to our shelter or supportive housing site locations throughout New York City as needed and to our career job fairs.
Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb stairs and / or kneel.
Occasionally the employee will have to lift and / or move up to 10 pounds.
