We re currently seeking aConstruction Manager to join our Headquarters team in Los AngelesCA
The ideal candidate willpossess handson knowledge of groundup commercial constructionpreferably in a national / regional retail environment and willsuccessfully manage multiple projects in various states.
Excellentplanning and communication skills are critical for success in thisposition. This includes coordination with external vendor partnersand internal teams to successfully open new stores on time withinbudget and at a level of quality that meets or exceeds Mister sstandards.
What you willdo :
- Manage constructionprojects with competing timelines from conception tocompletion
- Determine the resources (e.g. timemoney equipment) needed to create manage and fulfill projectbudgets within approved limits
- Job costestimating budget creation forecasting and closeout
- Collaboration andmanagement of general contractors and thirdparty vendorpartners
- Negotiate terms of agreements andreview bids andcontracts
- Apply valueengineering principles to increase facilityvalue
- Order equipment and work with internalsupport teams to meet delivery deadlines
- Reportproject progress on a weekly (and sometimes daily)basis
- Avoid issues through proper planning;resolve issues when they emerge
- Track andanalyze project flow and outcomes to prepare future reports andidentify improvements to Mister s bestpractices
- Remain calm under pressure actdecisively maintain flexibility and effectively manage multipletasks in a fastpaced environment
- Listenactively and communicateassertively
How youwill shine :
- Minimum 5years of experience in construction projectmanagement
- Ability to travel roughly50%
- Skilled at reading blueprints / schematics;knowledgeable about current building codes
- Mustbe able to perform miscellaneous construction tasks (e.g. pull wirestage and install equipment etc.)
- Work andcollaborate remotely with limited directsupervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office andconstruction management softwarepackages
- Excellent writing communicationproject management and interpersonal skills with a high level ofattention to detail
- Car wash experience is aplus
