Job Title : Design Project Manager

Responsibilities :

  • Work closely with Kemp’s preconstruction team and our Director of Design Build.
  • Lead the design phase of construction projects, collaborating with architects, engineers, and clients to develop project plans, timelines, and budgets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure design deliverables meet project requirements, codes, and standards.
  • Manage the design process from conception to completion, including conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
  • Facilitate communication between design teams, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of design and construction activities.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Conduct regular design reviews and quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative design culture within the organization, promoting continuous improvement and excellence in design execution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for design-related inquiries, clarifications, and change requests throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior design team members, fostering their professional growth and development.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including design revisions, correspondence, and approvals, to support project transparency and accountability.

Requirements :

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, engineering, construction management, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in design build and preconstruction.
  • Understanding of design and preconstruction sides of construction.
  • Proven experience as a design project manager in the construction industry, with a strong track record of successful project delivery.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, Primavera P6, and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple stakeholders and priorities.
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, building codes, and regulations, with a keen eye for detail and quality.
  • Leadership abilities with a focus on team collaboration, creativity, and results-driven performance.
  • PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
